Picasso was a rock-star artist, whose wild visions gripped public imagination and changed 20th-century art for ever. I have always loved his work because it is simply audacious, full of surprises and had a true identity. Nonetheless, his flamboyant personality (as shown by the colours) divided popular opinion. On one hand, was he a playful genius. On the other, a capricious and cruel misanthrope?  Ahh we'll always have Picasso.
